Objectives Theory:
Students get an introduction to the world of microbes ( fungi, bacteria and viruses)
Practice:
They learn to be accurate, to fill in correctly their report, to work under safe lab conditions, to prepare and stain samples of microbes and to work with the microscope
Prerequisites
Topics Theory:
- Introduction to mycologie ( morphology, cytologie, growth, reproduction)
- Introduction to bacteriologie (morfology, cytology, growth, reproduction)
- Introduction to virology (classification, structure, infection cycle)
Practice:
- Use and the construction of the optical light microscope
- Preparing and staining of fungal and bacterial specimen for slides
- Study of yeast, fungi and bacteria with the light microscope
