Objectives The purpose of the course is to familiarize the students with the central concepts and techniques in private law, in particular in relation to contracts, torts, physical and legal persons (associations and corporations).
Prerequisites The course contains three major parts:Part I introduces the concept of legal personality, studying both physical persons and incorporated entities. Part II treats the law of obligations, in particular:torts and strict liability,contract law, andgeneral principles applicable to all obligations, regardless of their legal source (types, consequences, transfer, evidence, payment, enforcement and remedies, etc.). Part III studies entities with or without legal personality, in particular:corporations and partnerships, andassociations, such as non-profit organizations.
