Objectives
Students are trained in writing efficient and effective business communication and in evaluating and correcting various kinds of business communication.


Prerequisites
None, apart form a thorough knowledge of Dutch.


Topics
1. Communication process, kinds of communication, communication strategy
2. Instruments for modern business communication :
- Language, style and structure instruments
Stress on essential wording and structuring principles such as clarity, conciseness, reader perspective, ordering principles,context.
- Information and structure analysis of various kinds of written business communication by means of reading strategies, purpose and target group analysis
3. Text writing
Communication strategy and instruments are integrated and trained in business reporting and letter writing (including fax and e-mail)

- Interactive teaching
- Integration of subject matter through classical practice and assignments

- Teacher's course book (subject matter and exercises)
- Authentic written business communication as illustration or as training material
- Material for individual study


Study guidance
Individual (if possible) and by appointment; questions about individual and group assignments are also dealt with by e-mail
