Key words Statistics 2
Objectives This is a traditional statistics course. We start from the first principles of two dimensional variables and finish with the traditional estimation of parameters. The theorem of Cramer and Rao completes the course.
Prerequisites The student is expected to have a thorough knowledge of the calculus of one variable. We also expect that the maximalisation techniques in two or more variables are well known and that integration of continuous functions of two or more variables is also a basic skill. These subjects are taught in the courses of mathematics in the first and second year.
