Objectives
Introducing the students to the basic principles of banking and investment decisions; description of basic products, techniques and features of European stock exchanges; illustration of the evolution of European stock exchanges.

-the bondsmarket : characterisics return, determinants of the return of bonds, bond ratings, duration, primary and secundary bond markets
-facts and figures about the Belgian banking sector : number of banks, number of personnel, products, balance sheets, return indicators,...
-definition of other financial intermediaries : sector characteristics of holdings, investmentbanks, venture capitalists, insurance companies.
