Objectives
The course makes the students familiar with the interplay between economic development and environmental issues. Theoretically as well as empirically with topics in microeconomics, macroeconomics as well as welfare economics.
Prerequisites
Students should have had an introductory course in economics.
Topics
First, a general introduction about environmental economics (market failure, externalities, green taxation,...) Second, a specific topic is chosen in the context of business economics and the environment : environmental management accounting. Third, case studies on environmental economics and management accounting in Flanders.
