Objectives
This course compares the systems of local government in a number of Western countries based on case studies of urban renewal and of policy steering on a city-regional level. Are there still distinctly Nordic, Anglo-Saxon, French, and southern European systems of local government, or has the modern state tended to converge upon a single model?
