Objectives
- to create an educational framework for the training;
- to gain insight into the general didactical model of Van Gelder, adapted to the specific learning situation of infant education;
- to lay a firm basis for observing, preparing and monitoring the playing and learning activities of infant classes;
- to gain a more profound insight into the evolution of an infant, as far as the different personality aspects are concerned.

Topics
The different components of the didactical model are dealt with, namely the determination of the didactical start situation, the definition and formulation of the objectives, the planning and monitoring of the playing and learning activities (experience and expression activities), the specific learning contents, the didactical form of working and evaluation. The present day infant school is situated in a broader educational context and its historical backgrounds are lined out. The infant's development is analysed in more detail on the basis of the different personality aspects concerned.

Teaching Methods
Weekly practical lesson in the morning with a demonstration and perception tasks. The practical listening and action trainings are the backbone of the course which consists of teaching moments, learning conversations and practical exercises.

Materials used
Syllabus, reading texts, videos, reports, demonstration activities, preparations of lessons.

Study guidance
In the event of problems, the student contacts the lecturer or the person in charge of the tutoring.

Assessment
- partial examination in January 50%,
- examination June 50%,
- permanent evaluation of a part.

Study costs
- course book: BEF 250,
- didactical visits: BEF 2,000.
