Objectives
At the end of the course the student should master the mother language orally and in written.
He/she is able to communicate efficiently in standard language in various communicative situations.
The student should master the skills and knowledge necessary to translate from a foreign language into Dutch.
Prerequisites
The basis of the first and second year.
Topics
Oral communication: presentations, reports, techniques and tactics of negotiating, a job interview.
Correspondence: style and some types of letters (claims, complaints, replies tocomplaints), direct mail, reports, comy-writing, press rele ase, letters of application.
Analysing, summarising and interpretation of texts.
Listening comprehension + exercises (analysing).
Spelling, style, vocabulary.
Home reading: 5 articles and students' reports.
Basic knowledge of linguistic and translating innovations.
