Objectives To acquire elementary knowledge of and gain an insight into the basic principles of neuropsychology (brain-behaviour relationship) and the corresponding pathology. To acquire elementary knowledge of and gain an insight into the basic principles of genetics and the corresponding pathology. To acquire elementary knowledge of and gain an insight into the basic principles of pharmacology and the corresponding pathology. To acquire elementary knowledge of and gain an insight into childhood diseases and vaccinations.
Prerequisites There is no specific prior knowledge required.
Topics Functioning of the central nervous system, lobes of the brain (frontal, parietal, occipital, temporal) and functions, pyramidal system channels, frontal syndrome, epilepsy, aphasia. Genetic code, cell division, standard patterns of genetics, numeral and structural chromosome defects, prenatal examination, psychological guidance accompanied by the hereditary examination. Neurotransmitters, psychopharmacologic drugs, stimulants: drugs and alcohol. Childhood diseases and vaccinations.
Teaching Methods Teaching with debating method. Concretizing using visual material.
