Objectives
To gain knowledge and insights in the diagnostic criteria, the subtypes, specific culture, age and gender features, prevalence, causes, familial patterns and treatment programs.
It is the intension to accomodate the student with observation, assesment- and reporting procedures.
He wil be able to participate in the development of a day-care type programme in co-orporation with a interdiciplinary team.

The following psychiatric disorders accure frequently in
the ambulantory and residential care in special education setting:
- disorders usually first diagnosed in infancy, childhood or adolescence: Attention-Deficit and Disruptive Behavior Disorde, Relational Problems: parent-child, problems related to abuse or neglect; Eating, Disorder and Borderline
- disorders usually diagnosed in adulthood: Mood, Anxiety, Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders.
