Topics
To study the biological basis of human behavior, we start from the bio-psycho-social model.
The first part deals with basic genetics (DNA, celdivision, genotype and fenotype, inheritage,...).
The theory is being linked to psycho-social and ethical consequences (e.g. preventive breast amputation).
The second part deals with neurophysiology (elements and function of the nervous system).
This will be demonstrated by for example the biological basis of emotions (anxiety and agression) and the consciousness (sleep and awakeness),...
In a third part the hormonal system will be studied. Hereby diabetes, stress, hyper- and hypothyreoidie, etc. will be discussed.
