Objectives To acquire knowledge and insight in :
- reasons for existence of the Social Assistance Department
- the subsidisation and conduct of the Social Assistance Department on the federal and on the regional domains
- the organisations of the Social Assistance Department (also international).
To develop skills to solve case studies.
Prerequisites Social endeavour.
To show proper consideration and respect for another person's opinions, particular social conditions and family circles.
Ability to share another person's views and preferences or at least insight into them.
Topics 1. History of the origin of Social Assistance (poverty and housing).
2. Flemish Community: budget (with estimates of revenue and expenditures) and the different departments (emphasis on department four).
