Objectives
The purpose is to give an introduction to (Belgian) public law sensu latu (i.e. constitutional law, administative law, human rights, ...). In this course the fundamental characteristics of the Belgian state are explained. Special attention is paid to human rights.

None.

Topics
General principles of Belgian public law (historical introduction, the Constitution and international rules of law, the separation of powers, fundamental characteristics of the Belgian state), fundamental rights and freedoms, the Federal State (the federal parliament, the federal government, the judiciary, the Council of State), the decentralised authorities, regions and communities.

Teaching Methods
Ex cathedra (possibility to ask questions and discussion).
