Objectives
In this course, the basics of sewing machines and ironing machines are explained. Using this technical knowledge, the students have to be capable of deducting the function and use of a certain machine. The exercises are meant to enable the students to recognize and explain the different parts such as the transporting system, the types of stitches, the stitch forming system,... The students have to be capable to make a machine fully operable. In this course, the focus is on teaching a certain ability and feeling in handling and using sewing machines. A lot of attention is paid to accuracy, which is indispensable to work with sewing machines.
