Key words Mechanical engineering
Objectives
Mechanics:
To convey as much as possible methods for problem solving. Application of these methods on real life technical problems.
Measurement techniques:
In view of quality control, convey the knowledge to measure and verify lengths, angles and geometrics.
Applied measurement techniques:
To learn to use and handle several measurement instruments.
Machine work:
- To acquire practical insight in the relations between technical-, technological- and theoretical knowledge lectured in other courses;
- To develop the ability to, by means of practical insight, analyse and solve adequately technical problems;
- To learn to apply theoretical knowledge acquired during this
course
Prerequisites Scientific and mathematical knowledge. Level : secondary school
Being interested in and able to make links and to solve practical problems.
Topics
Mechanics:
- Problems on discrete and coplanar forces and conditions of
equilibrium. With or without friction;
