Objectives Give insight in the most important crop husbandry measures that must be taken for optimising yield and quality of small (area) arable crops, forage crops (excluding grassland) and basics of topography and practices concerning field trials.
Topics 1. Arable crops: the course discusses the practice of several crops (smaller area): rapeseed/colza, hop, tobacco, onion, ...

Following priority issues are identified for the arable - and forage crops:
- Disease and pest management;
- Quality aspects of yield and breeding aspects;
- Crop protection measures;
- Actual results of applied research.
3. Topography and field trials:
- Exercises concerning the measurement of slope and shape of fields of arable land and grassland;
