Objectives
In this course the students gain more insight into the techniques to isolate and recombinate genes and to produce genetically engineered organisms.

Topics
Theoretical course:
Restriction endonucleases, cloning vectors, recombinant DNA technology, DNA sequencing techniques, cloning DNA sequences, screening cDNA libraries and gene mapping

Practical exercises:
Construction of recombinant DNA molecules involving PCR, DNA extraction, digesting and ligating DNA, cloning experiments and agarose gelectrophoresis.

Genetics, biotechnology, biochemistry and informatics
