Objectives
1. Language: The student's foreign language command in English is refined both orally and in writing so as to be able to face the requirements of modern business. Taking minutes, organising meetings and reporting are intensively trained.
2. Socio-economic aspects: Knowledge of social, political, economic and cultural aspects of the English speaking countries, including extending specific vocabulary. Current matters are looked into on an individual basis by making use of the modern media.



Topics
1. Language: During the first semester a further insight into grammar aspects is focused on. Furthermore current affairs and business-oriented texts are discussed and analysed.
In the second semester the following skills are practised:
Reporting, organising and taking minutes.
2. Socio-economic aspects: 13 chapters
The country and its people - History - Geography, climate, population - To be or not to be - The political system - The monarchy - Law, crime and justice -The economy -International relations - The media - Education - Sports - Culture
