Objectives
The student will know the theme's and concepts of object oriented design. He will understand (be capable of reading) an object oriented model and he will be able to implement this model using pseudo code. The student also understands different methods (operations, procedures) written by somebody else and he can design according to the principles of structured programming.

Topics
Object oriented design :
  • Theme's and concepts of object oriented design
  • UML concepts and notation
  • Understand and translate an object oriented model into programs using pseudo code
Structured design:
  • Building blocks of structured programming
    ØSequence
    ØSelection
    ØLoop
  • Split a problem into smaller parts (subsets) according to the principles of structured programming (top-down)
  • Design a structured algorithm and translate it into pseudo code
  • Design patterns for frequently occurring problem types
