Objectives
Earlier automation was restricted to information processing
For operational processes with stable and simple rules, like invoicing, stock management or accounting. The kind of problems really for which you can buy off the shelf programs.
Recently more complex problems have been tackled. The rules are more complex and less stable, maybe even conflicting. For these challenges a new generation of information technologists is needed. How do you search for a solution when no algorithm is available, how can you support teamwork, how to use expert knowledge?
