Key words statistics 1
Objectives This is a traditional statistics course. We start from the first principles of probability theory, stochastic variables, the classical discrete and continuous distributions, the central limit theorem, and some concepts from two dimensional statistics.
Topics Combinatorics theory; The concept of probability; Conditional probability; Stochastistic variables; Important discrete and continuous distributions; The central limit theorem.
Prerequisites The student is expected to have a thorough knowledge of the calculus of one variable. We also expect that the maximalisation techniques in two or more variables are well known and that integration of continuous functions of two or more variables is also a basic skill. These subjects are taught in the courses of mathematics in the first and second year.
Final Objectives

Study costs The student can download all study material in digital form.

Teaching Methods Lectures and work sessions.
Assessment Written examination.
