A general description of microprocessors and microprocessorsystems (buses,
memories, I/O-interfacing), referring to the most recent processors of Intel
and Motorola. Other topics covered: pipelining, virtual memory management,
virtual I/O-instructions, parallel processing and RISC-architectures,
FDD-drives, HDD-drives, CD-ROM, interfacing technologies (IDE, SCSI, PCMCI,
AGP, PCI, serial and parallel ports, keyboard), graphical adaptors and
network adaptors.
