Objectives To have the students aquiere a clear understanding in a few important areas of applied electricity (see table of contents).
Topics The course covers the following topics :
The european machine guideline : introduction.
No-break systems and short circuit safeties.
Electrical installations in areas with danger of explosion (Ex - regulations, thorough study of sensors, safety issue, ...).
Specialized PLC techniques and communication.
Choice of asynchronous motors.
Seminars : assignments, synthetic and specialized exercices that covers the area of control of electrical installations.
Prerequisites A good knowledge of the 3th grade course " electricity technology
Final Objectives
Materials used Teacher' s course " Electricity technology " (350 pages) are available.
Guidanie : If required students can ask the teachers to clarify and explain problems personally.
Study costs A course cost about 300 BF
Advise : keep up with the subject matter and prepare the exercices thoroughly
Study guidance
Teaching Methods Theory : the seminars students will be taught by means of lectures.
Small theoretical examples in order to clarify the subject matters will be made at the end of each chapter.
Seminars : students will be encouraged to carry out several individual case studies that will be discussed with teachers afterwards.
Assessment theory (oral / written examination)
Oral examination, partially at the blackboard, partially with a written preparation
Open questions wich cover the complete course will be drawn by the students
Exercises (seminars permanent evaluation)
Seminars are adjudged by means of permanent evaluation and reports
