Key words
Objectives
The course consists of two major parts: electric machines and power
electonics.
First of all, the students are initiated in the theory and working
principles of the "classic" electric motors. The machine is considered as a
building block of a drive system.
The introduction to power electronics consist of the topology and basic
equations of different electronic converters, used in the control of these
electrical machines.
Topics
Electrical machines:
- DC machines: types, working principles, analysis mathematical model.
- AC machines: types, working principles, analysis mathematical model
- Synchronous motors: types, working principles, analysis mathematical model
