Objectives
Students should be able to give a survey of the different sectors of the carepolicy of the Dutch Community Council. They have insight in policy instruments and use the right jargon. They follow actual debates in the media.


Topics
The course starts with a description of the jargon of care and carepolicy. It treats a survey of the organisation, underlying structures and evolutions in the community that are the base for the carepolicy. Actual options of the government are related to the different sectors in the landscape of carework in the Dutch part of Belgium, for instance poverty, child care, family care, care of the elderly, care for the homeless, care fore gypsies, immigrants and refugees, ...
