Objectives
Theoretical aspects : The purpose of this course is to provide a guide to understanding the fundamental principles of the analytical techniques of volumetric and instrumental methods.
Experiments : with selected experiments informe the students of the practical aspects of volumetric and instrumental techniques and how measurements are translated to reliable quantitative results. The results are qualified by some concepts of quality control. A security report pays attention to the dangers associated with chemical products.

Topics
Theoretical aspects :
Sample preparation in analytical chemistry
Volumetric methods : complexometry and redox analysis
Instrumental methods : fluorescence spectometry, introduction to coulometry - voltammetry
Experiments : use of ion selective electrodes , determination of phosphate in coke , determination of kinine in tonic, EDTA- and redox titrations, methods for analysis of water : BOD, COD, chlorides, nitrates ea.
