Key words mechanics
Objectives Theoretical mechanics is the base of all other related mechchanical branches: moter engines, strength of materials, rngine building, pumps, engine fitting,...
Theoretical mechanics gives also general insight and scientific background for the understanding of the equilibrium, movement and working of mechanismes , engines and machinery.
Topics Theoretical Mechanics has 3 major parts: statics, kinematics and dynamics.
In the statics we learn the student how to examinate the equilbrium of a simple and cmplicated solid body. At the same time he learns to calculate the reaction forces.
In the kinematics we learn about velocity and acceleration of solid bodys and mechanismes. In this part Force is not used.
Dynamics is the addition of the 2 previous parts. The student learns to see the relation between forces on a solid body or mechanism and the velocity and acceleration of this body or mechanism.
Prerequisites Elementary mathematics
Final Objectives Scientific obj AWC1 AWC2
The student wil have the general skill to interpret on a scientific way the movement and equilibrium of a solid body and mechanism.
Technical subj ATC1 ATC2
The student is capable to calculate the reaction forces on a static solid body.
The student can analyse the results of reactionforces, velocity and acceleraion on a body or mechanism.
