numeric analysis, electrical circuits, signalprocessing, electronics

Objectives
This course consists of two parts:
- numeric analysis
- electrical circuits
In numerical analysis the student gains insight in the basics of numerical calculation. This is essential to understand how simulationprograms work and how they are designed.
In electrical circuits, the emphasis lies on solving electrical circuits. These techniques are essential to understand and to design electronic cicuits.

Topics
Numeric Analysis: interpolation, finding roots of equations, numerical differentiation and integration, numerical integration of differential equations, linear programming, solving linear sets of equations, eigenvalues and eigenvectors.
Electrical circuits: electrical quantities, basic circuits, general methods for solving networks, general laws, dynamics, phasorcalculation, frequency-analysis, power, multiphase networks, networks with opamps and non-linear elements.

Prerequisites
Competences acquired in Math I and Electricity

Final Objectives
Scientific competences [AWC1, AWC2]
To be able to analyse and to solve simple numerical problems. To be able to analyse, to recognize and to solve electrical circuits.
Specific competences [SC1, SC5]
To be able to analyse and simulate simple analog circuits.
