Key words
Objectives
The course is divided in 3 particles. The aim of the first particle is to
learn the principles of adjustments using the least square method and to be
able to calculate the accuracy to be expected using different methods of
surveying. The aim of the second particle is to gain an insight on the
gathering of data using aerial photographs and other teledetection methods.
The aim of the third particle is to learn the principles of surveying using
GPS and total stations.
Topics
Theory:
Analytical data processing: least squares method, standard deviation,
adjustment techniques, progression of errors
Introduction to teledetection, photogrammetry,...
Principles of GPS and the different methods for surveys using GPS
Exercises:
Several field surveys are done using total stations, GPS equipment and other
topographical instruments together with extensive reporting using the
theories explained above.
