Objectives
This formation part intends to familiarize the students with spreadsheets. The emphasis lies especially on the most efficient usage of the software in business economical applications.
The student has to learn independent and accurate with spreadsheets in the practice of bookkeeper or tax specialist. For example: he must be able to compose debit tables and redemption tables, manage lists, construct formulas and calculate ratios...

The student will need the skills provided in the formation part Spreadsheet applications in formation parts that occur later in the programm like financial analysis, budgeting,...

Topics
Repetition of the basic techniques of a spreadsheet under Windows, like for instance
- Using formulas
- Draw up work sheets
- Print off
- Range names
- Elementary functions (for example sum, average, max, min, number)

Working with diagrams
- Making diagrams
- Draw up diagrams (like for instance data series and -points, titles, legend, axisses, text, levels,...)
- Adjust diagrams (like for instance add and remove data series, change diagram type,...)

Manage lists
- Compose lists
- Validation
- Sort
- Filtering lists (automatic filters, extensive filters)
- Data base functions

Prerequisites
Be able to utilize the current possibilities of the operating system so efficiently possible and dispose of a basic keyboard skill. (end competencies after following the formation part Communicative skills).

Elementary knowledge of the basic techniques of a spreadsheet is appropriate. A diagnostic test will detect the level of this beginning competency, so that the first lesson weeks can be differentiated and possible arrears with certain students can be eliminated.

SPECIFIC PROFESSIONAL REQUISITES

- Knowledge: - Knowledge of count sheets and the possibilities of the spreadsheet in function of the profession field (bookkeepers, accountants, tax specialists,...) - draw up debiting tables - usage of financial functions - compose formules to calculate financial rates - Knowledge of data processing and adjust data
- Skills: - Draw up count sheet with knowledge of calculations - Be able to work with figures information on an accountancy level - Be able to calculate the financial consequences of diverse calculations

Lesson files available through the intern network can be copied in the classrooms on CD-rom

PC with Office-software, students who haven't got an own PC can also use the computer exercise classroom outside the lesson.

Study guidance
A diagnostic test at the beginning of the course will determine at which level the student already manages the elementary basic actions concerning spreadsheets, so there can be worked differentiated the first lessons.

The lecturer will coach you and adjust where necessary in your guided self study with regard to diverse exercises and tasks that you have prepared independently
