Objectives Systematic integration of language structures.
Students learn technical vocabulary (Business English), general vocabulary and economic terminology, and learn to use it.
Students develop elementary written and oral communication skills for business English.
Students learn to consult simple types of professional literature and understand its contents; students learn to make information available through a critical attitude and the ability to express oneself clearly.
Students are able to understand an oral presentation; distinguish between essentials and side issues; formulate questions.
Students are willing to communicate.
Topics Basic grammar and language study (spelling, pronunciation); with exercises communication skills: speaking, listening, reading, writing.

Prerequisites General level attained after secondary education; elementary communication skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing).

Lecture; question and answer; in-class discussion of exercises: exercises are discussed and corrected with the whole group, but attention is paid to individual problems.
Role play, group work, discussions, presentations.

- First exam session: 30 % continous assessment and 70 % written exam
- Second exam session: 100 % written exam
