Objectives To gain an insight into the theoretical model of social consultation in Belgium;
To gain an understaning of how social consultation is conducted and make students better acquainted with the organizations which are a party to those discussions at the different levels;
To give students a basic knowledge of social consultation at the European level;
Introduction to several social consultative bodies at the global level;
To develop an objectively critical outlook on the different key players and their respective responsibilities in the labour process: government organizations, employers'associations, trade unions, ...
Topics Contextualization of the basic concept of "social policy" (inc. the legal framework in which this is embedded) and also the impact this has on the HR-worker's sphere of activity and the way (s)he operates.
So as to get an idea of the policy that's being pursued at the different levels, a face-to-face organizations and services. All visits are well prepared and are followed by an after-the-event discussions.
To add gravitas to the proceedings, guest speakers are also invited.
Prerequisites Building on the basic knowledge gained in the training module "Empoyment Law" in "Social Work - Year 2".
