Objectives 1) Topical themes:
In the final phase of their training, the students gain a deeper insight into a topical theme or a current development in the 'Social Work' domain.
They obtain a clear understanding of the social and systematic elements associated with the chosen theme.
The students develop an active and personal interest in specific themes relating to the social worker's wide field of activity.
The students also develop an attitude which is oriented towards CPD (continuous professional development).
2) Mosaic:
By making a choice for optional courses and seminars, the student can fill in a part of his own program in order to add some skills to his basic formation.
Topics 1) Topical themes:
The students choose a topic from a range of topical themes on offer at the department and which are described and explained in the annual college prospectus. This range of courses includes themes such as: comparative social work (internationalization), marketing and quality assurance, man and the wider environment, preventention, intercultural training and ICT for the purposes of social work, .... Such a themed course is run if enough people enrol for it.
2) Mosaic:
Students must choose for optional courses for a total of 3 studypoints.
They can choose for optioncourses of a composition of several activities or seminars.
Those activities can be organised bij the departement or bij other departements, other schools or organisations.
However some activities are obligated.

Teaching Methods 1) Topical themes:
Variable teaching methods are employed: teaching segments, brainstorming, group work, assignments, ... These methods differ from theme to theme.

Assessment 1) Topical themes:
Scoring system:
This is done on the basis of an oral examination and/or assignments.
The relevant appraisal technique is outlined, theme by theme, in the college prospectus.
2) Mosaic:
Examination and assignements are to be discussed between tutor and student and written down. Criteria and practical form is written in a guiding note.
