Objectives
Students will have to be able to explain the various finishing techniques, such as bleaching, dyeing, printing and finishing. Ghe have to be able to explain the underlying principles of the various pigments, in order to gain a better insight into the practical exercises.
During the courses, pieces of cloth will be shown to illustrate the most important finishing techniques. Students will have to be able te dertermine the type of cloth from the given examples and by referring to the known finishing techniques. They will also have to identify the techniques which have to be applied to a given material inorder to obtain a certain name.
The exercises will focus on the most important finishing techniques. Students will become familiar with the various characteristics, issues, application domains, etc.
