Objectives
Acquiring the necessary skill and logical insight in general modern programming.
To develop a logical thinking to solve problems and apply the correct syntax using a computer-language.

Topics
In the first part of the course, some fundamentals of hardware and software are being taught.

On the second part on introduction to programming in C++ is given: variables , arithmetic and logical conditions, loops. We develop "language-independent" solutions for sums, counting, maximum,.. With random-functions the student learns how the computer can be used in simulating real situations. Finally we deal with one and two dimensional tables.

Materials used
Teacher's course containing a lot of examples. New excercises that the student must solve during the labo's on PC.

The student can ask for more explanation after the lessons, sending an e-mail, during the student counselling service or after appointment with the lecturer.
The solutions of all the excercises are available on a website.

- Scoring system :
Theory : written examination (4/7)
Practice : permanent in the lab and 1 or 2 written tests about the C++-language (3/7).
