Objectives
This course mainly consists of an introduction to macroeconomics while the course "Algemene Economie 1" is mainly an introduction to microeconomics. Next to a general introduction to macroeconomic theory, the course also tackles some specific topics : (un) employment and government accounts. Ultimately, the goal is to offer a framework that can be used by students to get a better understanding of and critical view on the economic reality.

Topics
The major macroeconomic aggregates (concept, definition, figures), the goods-market and financial market, the labor market, IS-LM, aggregate demand and supply. Also: the financial and monetary market, theorey and policy on international trade.

None



Final Objectives
Knowlegde of basic principles, definitions, figures, models, ... used in macroeconomics. Ability to use these concepts in order to have a better understanding of (economic) reality.

Teaching Methods
General lectures during 10 weeks (20 hours). Two or three weeks are used for exercises in smaller groups of students.
