Key words Metallurgy
Objectives The objective of this study is to obtain a solid basis of metallurgy more specificly in th e domain of metallic properties, material-testing, and research.
Topics In this course different items were treated as, the mechanical characteristics of metals, metal treatment, metallographic research, mechanical design, casting techniques, state diagrams of binary alloys, iron-carbon-diagram.

Ability to critical, creative and scientific thinking concerning metallurgy and to interpret state diagrams.
Ability to applicate scientific insights on scientific problems concerning metallurgy.
Specific competences [SC3,SC5]
Ability to interpret metallographic structures and applicate in process and product control (metals and alloys).
Ability to obtain advanced metallurgical and chemical technological knowledge and master specific practical skills such as the interpretation of mechanical and metallographic experimental results, in combination with the results of chemical analysis.
