Objectives We intend to induce students to self-motivation and critical attitude. Issues of material management as well as production logistics are analysed and given a place within the logistics management frame.
Students have to able to word, analyse, implement and apply the different aspects of material management and production management.
Students have to be able to bring the right goods in the right quantity to the right place at the right time at minimal cost.
Attitudes to be developed are: accuracy, decisiveness, flexibility, critical attitude, assertiveness, independence, social openness. We intend to induce students to self-motivation and critical attitude.
Students need to be able to recognize, word, analyse and solve problems in the range of integral logistics.
Through assignments students get information and documentation about their skills.
The lecturer encourages problem solving by means of questions.
Topics Principles of stock management, warehouse management, supply chain management, … outlining efficient stock control; as students do not find their jobs in exclusively expedition-tied firms, it has become necessary to give them an understanding of different stock models.
Internal transport, organising a warehouse, various handling, loading and unloading techniques are also dealt with.
Aspects of production management: MRP, JIT, …
Organisation and activity of a production shop, cost calculation, cases.
Current topics are treated.

Teaching Methods In interactive sessions the theoretical framework is discussed.
Besides, time is spent discovering professional literature and analysing texts, seeking, processing, reporting and possibly presenting additional information.
Activities are practice-based, using exercises and excursions (see seminars and projects)

- First exam session: 70% written exam and 30% continuous assessment
- Second exam session: 100% written exam
