Objectives
Students are expected to become familiar with databases: being able to make and use a database, using a database program (from an Office package).
Students have to be aware of the main capabilities of a database program and have to be able to expand their know-how by using the help function.
Students have to be able to execute a series of assignments by themselves efficiently within a limited time.
Students have to be able to use a problem-solving frame of mind and work meticulously.

Database program:
  • Basic terminology on database programs
  • Making tables and relations
  • Entering data, linking to Word and Excel
  • Designing queries: for selection (including parameter- and join-queries) and action
  • Working with forms and reports
  • Exercises


Prerequisites
Being able to use standard possibilities of the operating system and having basic keyboard skills.
