Objectives
French I is a link between the competencies acquired in secondary school and the professional competencies which will be developed later. The students develop their communicative skills using authentic material and situations linked to the line of study chosen. They also develop job-related competencies such as finding information efficiently (see further).
The four communicative skills are developed (listening, reading, speaking and writing), but also certain attitudes (being critical, having an eye for quality, creativity, precision and accuracy, self-confidence, being co-operative).
All this is the basis for the more specifically professional competencies offered later in the programme.

Topics
  • General, economic and professional French through texts, vocabulary lists, audiovisual materials;
  • Exercises in these communicative skills on various topics from the professional field;
  • Recapitulation of basic French grammar, with exercises on typical difficulties.
