Objectives The students - describe clearly the phenomenon of a multicultural society in general and in the Belgian context - argue correctly the meaning of concepts such as cultural identity, discrimination, etnocentrism, cultural relativism, etc... - analyse themselves and the other through concepts such as cultural identity, discrimination, etnocentrism, relativsism, etc... - function accurately, creatively and responsible in the field through their gained intercultural competences

1. What is culture? 2. How important is cultural identity? 3. Views on the other? 4. Knowing cultural differences 5. Attitudes towards the other 6. Social competences and self-knowledge Practice groupwork about an intercultural theme in the form of a presentation/workshop
