Objectives I. Developmental psychology:
Students:
1) define correctly the developmental psychological lexicon.
2) indicate precisely the development image, the development process and the development tasks of the human being in the different life stages, from the conception to death.
3) recognize accurately the basic-, partial- and special themes in the development of the human being in given examples of the common daily life.
4) show respect to the developmental psychological identity of the human being in each stage of his/her life.
5) explore critically the influence of vision on the development of the human being in acting and working with them.
6) give essential argumentation to link the significance and the meaning of development psychology and the profession of a social worker.
7) profile their engagement for their one learning in this course by questions, solutions for tasks (individual and in group), churching and presentation of actual information.
II. Social psychology:
StudentS:
know what social psychology as science includes and what the differences are with other social sciences;
look critical to the different researchmethods used in social psychology;
define correct a few socialpsychological concepts (leadership, ...);
have knowledge of the models of Leary, Tavistock, Cohn, ... and can apply them correct.
Topics I. Developmental psychology:
Two basic content pilars:
1) The global theoretical framework of developmental psychology:the history, an attempt to give a definition, the(work)field of developmental psychology, visions, methodology, some important development models, development conditions.
2) The theoretical exploration of the life stages of the human being, from the conception to death:the prenatal- and the neonatal stage, the baby, the preschool child, the schoolchild, the adolescent and a panoramic view of the adult.Each phase of the development get attention: basic-, partial- and special themes.The adolescence and the adulthood have a differential approach.
The link between developmental psychology and the profession Social Worker gets always the essential care.
II. Social psychology:
Social psychology as science; Models of Leary, Tavistock, Cohn, ...; Socialpsychological concepts as leadership, ...; ...
Prerequisites I. Developmental psychology:
Basic knowlegde of:
- Psychology (1st year)
- Biologie and human behaviour (1ste year)
- Philosophy (1st year)
- Observation and reporting ( 1st year)
II. Social psychology:
Basic knowledge of the courses 'Psychologie', 'Groepswerk' and 'Observatie en Rapportage' (1st year).
Final Objectives Professional competences:
Developmental psychology and Social psychology support:
- Psychologic-social function: to be able to propose in a conscientious and methodic way aid and guidance to needs and difficulties in interactions between persons and the environment.
- Preventive function: to be able to invent and to realise preventive programs for specific clientgroups.
