Objectives
To teach the techniques of descriptive statistics, likely to be encountered in future statistical and economical contexts.

Topics
Scales of measurement; 1-dimensional observed distributions: tabulation and graphical presentation, parameters of location, dispersion and shape, moments; 2-dimensional observed distributions: graphical presentation, marginal distribution, parameters, regression line, correlation coefficient, time series.

Theory: 6 plenary classes of 2h each, in which the understanding of the concepts is of more importance than proofs and mathematical correctness.
