Objectives
Convey basic notions with regard to ready-to-wear clothing, discussing former and current measure systems, directed towards measure standardisation and indication.
Drawing up and making models of basic patterns for outerwear and underwear, aiming at an optimal balance between styling and industrial workability. The student must be able to judge a prototype and possibly to improve it.


Topics
* General notions with regard to ready-to-wear clothing: historical evolution, measure tables
* Drawing up of basic forms with standard measures for men, women and children
* Basic notions with regard to drawing lines and space tolerance: close fitting patterns and broad ones
* Standardisation documents with regard to technical drawing of design and patterns
* Drawing of derivations of basic forms: raglan and kimono sleeves and various sorts of collars
