Objectives
The object of the course is to give the student insight knowledge with regard to the general principles of microcontrollers and microprocessors. The student has tot apply this practical knowledge in exercices with an 80C51-based microcontroller system.
All example programs are written in assembly language.

Topics
* Programmable logic device (PLD, GAL)
* General overview to microcontroller architectures, software and programming.
* The 80C51 microcontroller Family architecture.
* The assembly language of the 80C51 family of microcontrollers

Prerequisites
For the hardware section, the student should have a basic familiarity with digital hardware. Anyone familiar with programming concepts should be able to follow the examples.
