Objectives
To supply students of knowledge and practical experience on breeding - en selection systems. To use and follow up of adequate selection schemes and the potential of genetic diversity in breeding programs take a central position in the course. Adequate seed production and legal constraints are dealing.

Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of genetics; plant and crop science

Final Objectives
  • Students must be able to design a breeding procedure for the most important agricultural and horticultural crops
  • Good knowledge of variety development and seed production
  • Be able to understand and interpret the scientific literature concerning plant breeding
