Objectives Students have to be able to understand and summarize an academic text in English. They also have to be able to demonstrate that they have acquired the necessary skills to give a presentation on a topic related to the political, social or their professional world..
Topics • Reading and understanding English academic texts, with focus on their specific structure, language, style, register, grammatical features.
• Preparation for the giving of a presentation on topics related to students’ studies or their future careers.
Prerequisites The competencies as they have been acquired in English II.
The students passed English II.
The students are able to read, understand, and interpret (in a grammatically correct way) journalistic texts on social and political topics
Final Objectives 1) Be able to summarize an English academic text
2) Be able to give a presentation on a profession-related topic in which they can reformulate and explain information in a structured way
