Objectives
Students have to be able to understand, reformulate and explain in English journalistic texts on general economic and business-related topics. They also have to be able to conduct a telephone situation in a business-related situation. The course wants to bring all students to an intermediate level, irrespective of their previous secondary school level.

Topics from the general economic and more business-related world. Communicative and language skills required for a telephone conversation in a business situation

Prerequisites
It is advisable that students have attained an intermediate level of written and spoken English, as required when they have finished their secondary education.

Final Objectives
• To be able to use correct and appropriate terminology and concepts related to economic and business topics
• To be able to conduct a telephone conversation in a business- related situation
• General competence: To be able to read, interpret, discuss and reformulate selected journalistic and other texts
