By means of theoretical lessons and a related practical exercise, we aim at giving students the opportunity to learn about these special settings and target groups.
The student is able to
- show that he has insight in the characteristics of the specific special target groups
- understand the client's (treatment) needs
- demonstrate knowledge about and insight in the specific terminology, related to the different special target groups
- understand the organisation of the treatment services and the existing settings
- show insight in the different treatment models, both in theory and the application in practice
Topics The following specific target groups will be studied:
- Substance abusers
- Sick children
- Mentally ill offenders
- Persons with another ethnic-cultural background
- Persons with psychiatric disorders
- Persons with acquired brain injury
- Elderly people
- Homeless people

- has attention for the proces in which the trajectory, the current interaction and influence patterns and the client's perspective each have their place
